Description:

Tank is a 4 year old Boston Terrier that weighs about 26lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and on heart worm prevention. "Hi everyone! Myname is Tank, also known as tank tank. I’m at my foster parents house and having so much fun!! They may have spoiled me a little. I was dropped off at an animal shelter by my previous owner due to having a rectal prolapse that they couldn't afford to fix. SCBTR stepped in to make sure I got the care I neeeded. After a few weeks of vet care and a few surgeries, I went to my foster home. They found that I needed to be on a special food(Hill's prescription diet food sensitivities, which costs $50 per 8lb bag) because I have a sensitive stomach. I’m no longer straining to go potty and as long as I have my new food, there shouldn’t be anymore issues. My foster mama said I have to be on this food and certain treats for the rest of my life, only because everything else makes my tummy not feel good. My foster mom and dad said whoever gets me is so very lucky cause I’m a good baby!! I listen and always let them know when I have to potty. I’m crate trained but.. they let me sleep in the bed with them. I sleep at the foot of the bed, but sometimes I sneak in cuddle time and lay beside her under the covers till I’m ready to go back to my spot on the bed. I lovvvvveeeee to go anywhere!! Riding is fun for me-I look out the windows and sometimes fall asleep in the back seat but I enjoy it so much!! My foster family has been so good to me, but it’s time for me to have my forever home because I have so much love to give! Just know whoever gets me is lucky cause I love to be loved on and cuddled with. I love to play ball outside and I’m a fast runner! I even out run those little people that come to stay the night on the weekends that my foster parents call grandkids. I get along with cats-sometimes I scare them cause I’m a big boy and they don’t know I’m just wanting to play but I only wanna be their friends. I get along with other dogs too, and I love to play chase! That’s about it for me oh yeah.. before I forget the vet scares me some now cause I had to have the prolapse surgery and then a repair surgery and as soon as I get there I wanna leave and if they give me a shot I scream like a kid cause I have been poked so many times... it just scares me. If you’re looking for a best friend and a cuddle buddy and somebody that will keep you laughing and entertained, I’m your guy!! If you would like to give Tank his forever home, please submit an application at southerncrossbtr.com. The adoption fee is $350. He is being fostered in Austin, KY. Approved adopters must be willing to travel to where the dog is being fostered in order to adopt them. Thank you for choosing rescue and for considering Southern Cross for your next furbaby. ** IF THIS AD IS STILL ACTIVE, THEN THIS PET IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION **##1960081##Adoption processAdoption fees: 6 to 12 months $42513 months to 3 years $3754 years to 7 years $3508 years and older $250 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out the application at southerncrossbtr.com. Before filling out an application it is recommended that you visit the informational pages on this site to determine whether or not a rescued Boston Terrier is for you. The application is quite extensive so be prepared to spend some time filling out answers to ALL the questions. It is necessary that you fill out every possible field. Unfinished applications will not be considered. A completed application is indicative of a genuinely interested adopter, and only these will be considered. Only leave blank the questions that do not apply to you, and type "Not Applicable" where you can in the answer fields to these questions. When you have completed the online form, click the "submit" button at the bottom and your application will be sent to someone on the board of the rescue to be reviewed. This member will contact your veterinarian (if applicable) and verify your information. If all questions have been answered and the information on your application has been verified by a veterinarian, your application will then go before the board to be considered. If the board approves the application, you will be contacted to schedule a home visit. Please be patient as this process can take up to two weeks. Applications are handled on a first come, first serve basis. If your application has been accepted, someone will contact you to arrange a home visit. During the home visit, a member of our board will conduct a brief inspection of your home and a personal interview. Please do not feel intimidated by this step in the process. The home visit is not conducted to judge anyone on anything other than that the home is safe and suitable for a dog. The visit is brief and helps us to determine the dog that would best fit your environment. The findings from the home visit and in-person interview are then submitted back to the board. A decision will be made at this point as to whether or not the dog that has been applied for is a good match for the applicant's lifestyle and environment. If it is determined that a specific dog is not a good match for an applicant, another dog may be recommended to you. Once all of these steps have been completed, you may come to the foster home and pick up your new family member and pay his/her adoption fee. This includes altering, microchip, shots, fecal and heartworm test, de-worming, as well as any other necessary procedures. The dog will be current on a monthly heartworm medication. The adoption process usually takes about two weeks to complete. Due to the massive amount of e-mail we receive, you will only be contacted by us if you are approved. Please try and avoid emails regarding your application status for at least two weeks as it only slows down the process. The adoption process may seem lengthy or even extreme, but we assure you that each step is as necessary as the next in finding these precious dogs the best possible homes, and finding each applicant the best suited Boston Terrier.Shelter locationFoster homes will communicate with potential adopters about each foster. Potential adopters may see if foster homes will meet with them to see the dog but it isn't required for the foster home to do so. First meeting is the day you go with the intensions of adopting the Boston. The day of meeting is the day you can adopt the foster if you have been approved.
